Techniques
Neuromuscular therapy (NMT) is soft tissue manipulation. NMT is highly effective for clients with chronic pain and is often successful in reducing or eliminating painful conditions. This medically oriented massage addresses circulation, nerve compression, postural issues, and biomechanical problems. Some of the techniques can be applied to acute injuries and for post surgical care. It may help to improve performance and prevent injuries. This form of massages addresses movement dysfunction by targeting trigger points. It can help to relieve many conditions including upper and lower back pain, neck pain, TMJ and jaw pain, sciatica, knee and hip pain, and headaches. NMT balances the musculoskeletal and nervous system.

Myofascial Release (Myo) is effective for giving relief to certain painful, stiff “trouble spots” on the body. It is a slow, deliberate technique focusing pressure on layers of muscle, tendons, and other tissues deep under your skin. Pressure is applied until there is release (some describe this as a melting technique). This form of massage can help relieve chronic patterns of tension and helping with muscle injuries.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST), is a gentle technique that works with the soft tissue structures of the body and the flow of cerebrospinal fluid between the head and the base of the spine. CST uses a light touch to examine membranes and movement of the fluids in and around the central nervous system. Relieving tension in the central nervous system restores optimal performance by eliminating pain and releasing physical and emotional stress. CST is an effective way to work with trauma, jaw, mouth, head, and neck injuries, anxiety, stress, depression, and birth issues (both for mother and child). CST can also benefit patients with Central nervous system disorder, Scoliosis, Migraine, Chronic fatigue, Concussion, and Dementia.

CranioSacral Therapy Transformative (Emotional Release, SomatoEmotional Release SER) addresses the emotional traumas that we harbor within our bodies, manifesting as pain and dysfunction. This approach involves talking with the therapist about our experiences and working through discomfort, with the ultimate goal to acknowledge and release the internalized trauma. The patient may be asked to revisit the trauma while the therapist applies various exercises. Past traumas can prohibit our body from functioning wholly and completely. CST emotional release allows us to move past the “road blocks” within our body and reawaken ourselves to a higher physical, mental, and emotional potential.

After the first few session we could see a tremendous improvement in my health. Even after going to western medicine doctors and naturopathic care, Amy was the one thing that really changed everything for me! She is the best massage therapist I have ever gone to,(and I’ve gone to dozens) with a huge knowledge about why she does what she does, and her practice of cranial sacral therapy is life changing to say the least! You feel rejuvenated in your mind body and soul after every visit, she provides a very safe space for you to heal and improve your life. She is very informative if you have any questions and is very patient. I’m so thankful that I found Amy and her magic hands and soul, I thank god everyday that I was able to heal with the help of Amy!
